Thursday storm leave streets and homes across Arkansas flooded
Little Rock, Arkansas – A widespread Thursday storm across the state of Arkansas brought plenty of rain that some flood areas couldn’t handle.
The tornado-originated storm that ripped late Wednesday affected parts of Texas and Oklahoma.
Officials performed more than 30 water rescues in Washington County in northwest Arkansas as heavy rainfall flooded homes and streets in the cities of Fayetteville and Johnson.
Government officials of the county wrote an emergency proclamation to the governor’s office after floodwaters swamped the area.
Residents of DeWitt, Down in Arkansas County were affected by severely gusty winds, lightning, and hail showers produced in the storm.
After a tree fell on the city truck, two city workers had to be rescued.
Over in Jefferson County, Pine Bluff neighborhood streets were flooded, leaving some vehicles submerged in water.
A total of 3,304 Arkansas homes are without power with 794 Chicot County residents as the highest county with outages, according to poweroutage.us.
