Total active Covid-19 cases in Arkansas still remains above 4,500, drop in hospitalizations
Arkansas – The number of active cases still remains above 4,500, while the number of hospitalizations drops.
According to the latest Covid-19 daily report issued by the Arkansas Department of Health, the state recorded 455 new cases on Friday and 11 additional Covid-19 related deaths.
With the latest numbers, since the start of the pandemic the state of Arkansas added a total of 515,979 Covid-19 cases and 8,483 deaths.
The number of total active cases sits at 4,632 which is 67 more compared to the day before.
Postive news is that the number of hospitalizations is declining meaning more hospital beds free. Currently, there are 280 people in hospital which is a decline by 13 compared to previous day.
The number of people on ventilators grew by 6, now sitting at 77.
Counties with the most cases reported are Benton, Pulaski and Washington, adding 61, 45 and 30 cases respectively.
In the last 24 hours, 13,163 doses of the vaccine have been administrated.

The COVID report remains consistent with what we saw last week. COVID is stubbornly hanging around. Our steep declines in cases have leveled off so let’s not slack off in our vaccine push.
