Verizon Wireless to increase minimum wage

Little Rock, Arkansas — The starting wage for new and existing Verizon Wireless customer-service employees increased.
Starting wages have been raised to $20 dollars per hour, according to the company.
Verizon is offering sign-on bonuses to employees at Little Rock and Pine Bluff select retail locations in addition to the raise.
New retail specialists will receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus and assistant managers will receive a $3,500 bonus to sign on.
According to the cell phone company, current customer service and retail employees who receive less than $20 dollars per hour will earn this new, higher rate automatically.
Premium pay differentials are also offered for assistant managers who work on holidays and Sundays, as well as for bilingual employees.
