With the Omicron variant in place, numbers are setting record high values; one Arkansas hospital with the highest number of positive results since the start of the pandemic

Arkansas – Omicron became the dominant variant across the country and it looks like we are just at the start of the new, so-called winter Covid-19 wave that is expected to culminate by the end of January.
That said, many states are seeing a major increase in the number of new Covid-19 cases while some states like Arkansas already set some new record values.
With the latest surge across Arkansas, Baptist hospital has tested record numbers of people at their drive-thru.
According to their data, the Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock location tested 1,025 by 1:30 p.m. Monday.
In in official statement, the officials with the hospital said anyone who wants to get test should expect increased waiting time as the demand for testing is huge. For comparison, two weeks ago the testing site reached 500 positive cases in a single day and that was the highest number for quite some time.
The Little Rock location is one of 18 Baptist Health sites across the state that offered COVID testing and asked for the public’s patience as they work to accommodate the lines.
