Police in Little Rock, Arkansas, make an arrest in the first homicide of 2023
Little Rock, Arkansas – In connection with the city’s first homicide of 2023, Little Rock police have made an arrest.
Officers were dispatched to a location in the 700 block of West 3rd Street at 7:49 in the morning, according to the Little Rock Police Department. Police reported that they discovered a man dead when they arrived on the scene.
According to Little Rock Police Department officials, James Lambert, 29, was detained in relation to the fatal incident. He is accused of committing capital murder.
At this time, the victim’s identify has not been made public by the police. The victim’s remains will be brought to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and conclusive identification, according to LRPD officials.
The LRPD reports that 2022 was the worst year in the city’s documented history, with 81 killings.
