Arkansas to benefit from Amazon’s nationwide hiring plan
Little Rock, Arkansas – In a strategic move to brace for the upcoming holiday rush, Amazon is setting its sights on Arkansas to ramp up its workforce. The e-commerce giant recently announced its plans to hire an impressive 1,700 Arkansans to fulfill a myriad of roles, from full-time to seasonal and part-time positions.
This hiring spree in Arkansas is a fragment of a much larger recruitment drive that the company is undertaking. In total, Amazon is looking to onboard 250,000 additional employees across the United States to meet the anticipated holiday demands.
In an encouraging move for potential applicants, Amazon has sweetened the deal by hiking the starting pay for these new roles. Officials have stated that new hires can expect an average starting salary of $20.50 per hour. John Felton, Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations, shed light on the variety of opportunities on offer, emphasizing inclusivity. “Whether someone is looking for a short-term way to make extra money, or is hoping to take their first step toward a fulfilling and rewarding career at Amazon, there’s a role available for them,” Felton commented.
Amazon’s investment in Arkansas is not a new venture. The company’s presence has been economically beneficial for the state. As per the latest release, Amazon has infused more than $1.7 billion into Arkansas’s GDP. This contribution aligns with the creation of over 4,000 direct jobs and an additional 6,600 indirect job opportunities.
Arkansas residents or those looking to relocate and interested in seizing an opportunity with Amazon can begin their application journey at Amazon.com/Apply. As the holiday season inches closer, Amazon’s hiring surge promises to bring both employment opportunities and enhanced services for its vast customer base.
