Man murdered in gunfire overnight near Pine Bluff on South Ash
Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Following a man’s death in a midnight shooting, Pine Bluff police are conducting an investigation.
According to authorities, Willie Purifoy was shot and died at 2702 South Ash.
Officers from the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the vicinity of 27th and Ash at around one in the morning on Thursday. Not long after we got there, we received a second call saying someone had been shot on South Ash.
There was no response from Purifoy. Shortly later, the Jefferson County Coroner declared him dead at the scene.
No one has been taken into custody as of yet, according to detectives, who claim they are actively interviewing people of interest.
According to the police, there isn’t any suspect information available right now.
Investigators with the PBPD at 870-730-2106 are encouraged to speak with anyone who may have information.
