No. 7 North Little Rock hangs on, beats No. 4 Central 57-56
North Little Rock, Arkansas – Four days had passed since North Little Rock High School upset then-No. 1 Bryant and ended the Hornets’ 26-game winning run.
Tuesday night, the No. 7 Charging Wildcats (18-7) defeated rival No. 4 Central 57-56 to record their second straight top-ten triumph.
The Wildcats won 52-41 at home to Central to get revenge for their defeat at the hands of the Tigers in late January.
The Tigers mounted a ferocious second-half rally, scoring 43 points, but were unable to overcome the Wildcats, who had controlled the first half offensively and led 32–13 at the break.
Following the win, Bryant is now in first place in the 6A Central standings, with North Little Rock and Central (23-6) tied for second place with 8-3 records.
With 16 and 12 points apiece, senior guard Ja’Kory Withers and sophomore guard Andre Barnes led North Little Rock in scoring.
Annor Boateng, a Missouri signee and senior guard/forward, led Central with 17 points. Daniel Culberson, a senior guard, contributed 17 points as well for the Tigers.
