North Bar embarks on a new journey after devastating fire
North Little Rock, Arkansas – North Bar, a popular bar and grill in central Arkansas, known for its feature on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” in 2018, has taken a creative turn following a significant fire. Last month, this hotspot in the Park Hill neighborhood of North Little Rock suffered a disastrous fire, leading to its indefinite closure. However, in a resilient move, North Bar announced plans to transition into a mobile kitchen.
On Wednesday, North Bar shared their exciting new venture on social media. Dubbed “The North Bar Mobile Kitchen,” this initiative is a response to the adversity they faced. Their announcement was accompanied by a vibrant image of their carrot-shaded food trailer, humorously noting, “Orange is the new black.” This move aims to keep the business operational and connected with its patrons while they work on rebuilding their brick-and-mortar location.
The fire that led to this significant change occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on October 2nd, originating in the storage room of North Bar. The North Little Rock Fire Department responded to the emergency, but the extent of the damage meant the establishment had to close its doors. Fortunately, no one was present at the time of the fire, as North Bar is regularly closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The impact of the fire was deeply felt by the community and the North Bar team. In a heartfelt message on social media following the incident, they expressed their gratitude towards first responders, neighbors, families, and friends for their support and messages. The post reflected their shock and the uncertainty about the future of their business, requesting privacy and prayers during the cleanup and recovery process.
North Bar’s prominence was highlighted in a season 29 episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” titled “From Big Burgers to Little Italy.” In this episode, they showcased their unique culinary offerings, including the Arkansas BBQ Burger and the Sweet and Sour Chicken Sandwich, alongside another Little Rock favorite, Bruno’s Little Italy.
