Tragic shooting incident in Pine Bluff that claimed two teens lives under investigation
Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The police department is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic shooting incident in Pine Bluff that took place on Sunday evening, which resulted in the demise of two teenagers and left another seriously wounded.
The event transpired at a residential property located on the 2300 block of West 17th, proximate to Hazel Street, at approximately 5:50 p.m., as reported by the local law enforcement.
Upon their arrival at the incident site, police personnel discovered three individuals who had suffered gunshot wounds. These included a 14-year-old female, a 17-year-old male, and another male aged 18.
Regrettably, the police found the 14-year-old female and the 17-year-old male unresponsive upon discovery. They were declared deceased at the location by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office.
On the other hand, the 18-year-old male was discovered to be responsive at the scene. Emergency medical teams promptly transported him to a nearby healthcare facility, where he is presently listed as being in a serious health condition.
As part of their investigation, law enforcement officials interviewed witnesses, who disclosed that the shooting originated from a passing vehicle, with someone discharging a firearm from the passenger side. The investigators established that the two young males were targeted outside the residence, while the female victim was inadvertently hit by a bullet inside the living room of the property.
The investigative team is persistently working on processing the scene and conducting additional witness interviews. At this stage, there has been no release of information regarding the identity of a potential suspect. Likewise, due to their tender ages, the authorities are withholding the identities of the victims involved in this case.
This investigation remains an active matter of inquiry. The Pine Bluff Police Department urges anyone with relevant information to reach out to their detectives at 870-730-2106 or 870-730-2090.
Local officials have grimly acknowledged these as the 13th and 14th homicide cases in Pine Bluff for the year 2023.
