Pine Bluff nature center to host annual Wetlands and Wildlife Festival on Saturday
Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Gov. Mike Huckabee Delta Rivers Nature Center is gearing up to host its annual Wetlands and Wildlife Festival. Set for Oct. 28, from noon to 5 p.m., this event promises an afternoon packed with fun, learning, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Families and friends are in for a treat as they explore the wonders of nature in a celebratory setting.
This year’s festival, which is one of the center’s largest events, boasts an impressive lineup. Nature center director Jason Hooks is particularly excited about the new vendors and conservation partners participating. “We’ll have door prizes, including a $500 gift card to Hunters Refuge,” Hooks shared. Along with enticing prizes, the festival will feature food trucks, hunting demonstrations, various games, and live music. Given that it coincides with Halloween weekend, children can look forward to a delightful array of candies.
Adding a literary touch to the event, Arkansas children’s author Cathay Melvin will be present to sell and sign copies of her book, “Cypress Knees and Tupelo Trees.” She is also set to captivate the young audience with a book reading.
The festival will not just be about fun and games; it will also provide unique educational experiences. Kenley Money from the Arkansas Hawking Association will demonstrate hunting with raptors, offering a rare glimpse into this fascinating aspect of wildlife. Randy Turner and his shed hunting K9’s are also set to return, much to the delight of attendees who have previously enjoyed this demonstration.
Radio enthusiasts can tune in to KTPB, 98.1 ‘The Hog,’ for a live broadcast from the event. Meanwhile, the nature center and its trails will be open for exploration, inviting attendees to connect with nature’s serene beauty.
This event is made possible by the support of numerous sponsors, including Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion, Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Dew Drop Auto Parts and Repair, and various Jefferson County and Pine Bluff businesses.
