Mothers from Arkansas gather at state capitol to fight domestic violence
Little Rock, Arkansas – When crime is discussed, the goal is always to triumph over violence, and on Saturday, several families who lost loved ones to murder united on the steps of the state capitol.
Lawanna Allen and Lakesia Aycock, two mothers from Arkansas, organized the event and are now fighting for the cause by raising awareness of violence and addressing the community.
“This journey is our journey. We didn’t ask to be on it but here we are. We will continue to fight for our loved ones and yours. We are just getting started,” one of the mothers stated.
Frank Scott Jr., the mayor of Little Rock, and morning anchor Ashlei King were among the guests speaking at the ceremony.
In Little Rock, there have been ten killings so far in 2024.
