Arkansas State Police troopers arrest Sherwood fugitive accused of possessing child porn
Little Rock, Arkansas – After being suspected of having child porn, a guy has allegedly been dodging arrest for more than two years, according to troopers with the Arkansas State Police.
51-year-old Robert Daniel Payne Jr. is accused of eight charges of distributing, having, and/or accessing materials that show sexually explicit behavior involving children, according to special agents. Payne was taken into custody on Monday.
According to ASP officials, when they searched his residence in 2019, they found electronic devices and other pieces of evidence. According to authorities, arrest warrants were issued in 2021.
Payne was detained, according to state troopers, inside a restaurant on North Little Rock’s Warden Road.
“This case shows that persistence pays off,” ASP Colonel Mike Hagar said. “I am so proud of our Criminal Investigations Division for never giving up the search for this suspect.”
Payne was reportedly taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center, according to special agents.
